Conclusion Page
Conclusion
In conclusion to this project I realize
that the robots have and the importance that they have in our world and economic
system in the U.S. robots have been a major influence in the world because they
have been in factories, jobs, movie producing, and homes. Robots have influenced America in many ways
like how to go about the manufacturing of cars. I have come to the decision
that overall robots are essential to the U.S.’s economy and industries.

I did not know
that there were different groups of robots, before this project. I had no idea
that there were four types of robots.
Since this project I now know all four types of robots: modular,
educational toy, sports, and the humanoid robots. I also know the differences
between these robots. A difference between the modular and humanoid is that the
modular can be made by combining standard building blocks. The humanoid is a
robot made to resemble the human body. Other
differences between the robot types are there jobs and functions. I at first did
not know that robots were designed to accomplish the tasks of man. I thought
that they were designed to assist and make our tasks easier, but that is not
the case. Robots not only can perform
our jobs and help us with them, but they can do some jobs more efficiently than
us. They also save money and take away some of the jobs.
I
also had no idea that there were robot conventions as big as they are. There are
conventions in Japan and all over the world. Japan has hosted conventions so
big that they have celebrities attend, such as Justin Bieber. Justin Bieber
helped unveil and display the new dancing TOSY robot. It was unveiled in Japan
at a convention. This robot
is a dancing robot that you can download songs onto, the robot will dance to
the beats of the songs. Japan has also hosted conventions for the TOSY ping
pong playing robot. In the year 2006 Japan unveiled its first museum completely
dedicated to robots. Nagoya is the city home to this museum. It was
chosen because it hosted one of the most exclusive robot conventions ever held
in the world. This convention was held in 2005. The museum is home to exactly
300 robots, many of the robots interact with the visitors by nodding and moving
their hands and head.
Another thing that I didn’t know
about robots was the effect that they had on jobs. Robots can work in some ways quicker and more
efficiently, but in other ways they cannot. Robots are more efficient in ways that they don’t
require a payment to work and that they don’t have to take lunch breaks. In other
ways robots are not efficient because they are programed to do one specific
task, so if you want to make a small change to the product, then you have to go
back and reprogram the robot. The more robots that are produced the more people
that are out of jobs. It has been talked about that robots will soon take over some
grocery store jobs and they will also be on the docks. Robots have already taken over the car manufacturing
industry and are continuing to increase in that market.

This
is ASIMO. ASIMO is a humanoid robot that stands at 130 centimeters and weighs
54 kilograms. This robot was created by Honda, in Japan at Honda’s Research
& Development Wako fundamental Research Center. He was made to look like a
small astronaut wearing a backpack. The robot can stand and walk around on two
feet. The picture was taken in 2005 at
the Expo in Japan.
This
is FRIEND-III. It is a helpful working robot. This robot was created
specifically for the elderly. On this robot is a stereo camera system on
pan-tilt-head, chin joystick, TFT display, mini joystick, tray with IR sensor
surface, panning arm of TFT display, and panning arm of manipulator. This
picture of FRIEND-III was taken in 2005. This robot is a combination of a robot
and a wheelchair.
This
is TOPIO. He is a bipedal humanoid robot. This robot was designed to play table
tennis or ping- pong and compete against humans. The picture of TOPIO was taken
in Tokyo at the International Robot Exhibition in 2009. The company who designed TOPIO is TOSY. TOSY
is the first Vietnamese manufacturing company. The slogan for TOSY is the FUTURE ROBOT.
This
is Roomba a vacuum cleaner. Roomba is an autonomous robot that has been
domesticated into a vacuum cleaner. This robot was introduced first in 2002. The
company that makes and produces Roomba vacuums is iRobot. The vacuum can
navigate through halls and doors while avoiding obstacles all on its own. Since
the first model there have been many new types of this vacuum and they are
still improving those.
This
video is about Justin Bieber unveiling a dancing robot. This robot was created
by TOSY. It was unveiled in Japan. This robot is a dancing robot that you can
download songs onto, the robot will dance to the beats of the songs. Justin Bieber claims that this is one of his
favorite gadgets. Normally under 18 year
olds are not allowed onto the TOSY robotics’ floor, but since it was Justin Bieber
it was overlooked.

The Future of Robotics
The
future of robotics in the United States is growing. There are many different
types of robots. There are humanoid robots, modular robots, educational toy
robots, and sports robots. The biggest difference in these robots besides the
job is the way that these robots work. Another big factor between these robots
is the way that they are made. The modular robots can be made by combining
standard building blocks.
The humanoid robot is a robot that has only one already
made she is called Lara, as of 2006. This robot has artificially made muscles.
Lara is not run on electric motors; she is powered by metal alloy strands that
contrast as soon that they are heated by an electric current. There is another
humanoid robot that is being worked on as of 2009 it is called Asimo.
The modular robot has many examples. The Utility Fog is an
example, the M-Tran, and Self-replicating robots are other examples of the
modular robot. The most unique modular robot is the Swarmanoid. The swarmanoid
is unique because it combines three different types of robots to get a swarm
affect therefore that is why this robot is called the swarmanoid.
The educational toy robot and the sports robots are very
self-explanatory. The educational toy is exactly what the name implies it is an
educational toy robot. The sports robot
is self-explanatory because it again is what the name implies. There really is
nothing very unique or significant about these robot types, except that the
name explains what they are and what they do.
The future of robots is booming because of one main fact
only. That fact is that the United States as a country is growing in size and
in the world of electronics. There is more than just that fact about why the
robotics world is booming. The medical field is using more robots. It has been
said that in the year 2018 the medical field will be full with robots. It has
been said that this robotic stage will be worth 1.53 billion dollars. This
prediction is only really pertaining to the surgical field. Eventually the
thought is that robots will be putting people out of a lot of jobs because they
will perform the operations and surgeries. This webquest will inform good
information and may entertain you about facts about the future of robotics in the
modern world.
